Happy Easter!

It has been a fun end to the term!
The children enjoyed taking part in the well established Decorated Egg competition. Yet again, the ideas were great, with a lot of time and effort put into the task. Well done to all those who took part.

The Llanhari Primary tradition of egg pacing was also enjoyed by all.
Very well done to Chloe who won in our class.

The cleaning up team also did a marvellous job! Da iawn!

Get sweeping, team!

Tia's Trophy!

This is my new trophy.
I had it for student of the month in Tae Kwon Do.
I had to do my pattern chonchi tul and I had to spell some words and numbers that are really complicated. It was all in Korean.

Da iawn, Tia from Class 7!!

Let's Get Physical!!

Class 7 thoroughly enjoyed their session of 'physical theatre' with Mrs Watts. They had great fun making numbers and letters in the warm up and worked with the same level of enthusiasm during the main activity. Each group were given a verse from the poem River Journey by Moira Andrew, they then had to act out the verse through movement and sound. The results were amazing!
Bendigedig dosbarth 7!!

Can you spot the letter?

Mr Francis' Visit

Mr Francis came into school today to talk about his experiences as a writer. He told us about his story writing in school. He spoke about ways in which we can make our stories more interesting by using our senses. What can the character see/hear/smell/touch/taste?

He also explained to us how he came to write about the history of Llanharry. He studied many maps and books and discovered information about the Beaker Burial, the church, the Norman font etc. His first publication was launched in the late 60's .

He then wrote the book The Border Vale of Glamorgan (1976) which eventually sold 3000 copies!

A lovely treat for Book Week!

Olivia shows us a photograph of her ancestor 'Annie Baltic'.
